    ROI estimates

When reviewing a business case to adop a new product there are obviously a number of factors to consider.  The most pressing for most is ROI - and so, I am pressed to inquire if there are any estimates or testimonials available which share ROI calculations for organizations that have deployed the VTMS?

Obviously such an estimate would need to include all direct and indirect costs but might also attempt to calculate intangibles such as decreased time to market, as needed retraining, etc.

Thank you for your continued interest in answering these questions!

Take a look at the case studies on the Surgient website. The VTMS resources page (http://www.surgient.com/products/vtms/resources.asp) has case studies, and also some recorded webinars, that talk about specific customer experiences with the product.

    Re: ROI estimates

Thanks; I had read through much of this material.

I am interested in learning from others and what factors they considered when performed a cost-benefit analysis.  The details provided in the various case studies are very good; and begin to provide valued information such as the payback timeline, but more or less lack specifics.  For example, bringing people onsite for training costs X+Y+Z for travel, lab space, set up and tear down, etc.  I feel a listing of all cost factors would be useful.  Even if the sample values were generic it would provide unique insight into cost savings.  I am asking for the tools I need to better communicate how this VTMS tool can help us improve our operations.

Here is an interesting notion; provide a java applet or other tool that will help provide folks with a basic understanding of the cost factors and how the VTMS (and VQMS for that matter) can assist in providing a reduction in costs.  As they say, 'show me the money'. ;o)

    Re: ROI estimates

Typically we work with a prospective customer to develop an ROI analysis as part of the sales process. The footprint of the applications being deployed in the virtual lab environment, especially in the context of training, has a great impact on the ROI. We've not deployed a generic ROI tool thus far because we have to work closely with the customers to help them understand the impact of their applications when brought into the virtual lab. Its a great idea, though!

Your salesperson can easily work with you to develop an analysis that is specific to your environment, or can share some of the models we've developed for other customers.

    Re: ROI estimates

Thank you Erik, the generic models should provide sufficient insight for us to develop more accurate predictions.  I look forward to exploring this.

Aside from the Saba Centra integration, I am wondering if there are other in roads for the VTMS into the HigherEd market.  Any success stories ready for print?  If not, do you have your eyes on any partners which can help promote the product set via a trial/ pilot program?
