    Surgient utilities

Is there a way to access the surgient utilities via the console, so we don't have to log on to the servers.  Utilities such as the VCSAdmin.exe, EngineManager.exe and others.

Actually vcsadmin is the usually the command alternative to the Management Console, although we do reserve some advanced options in vcsadmin.  All of the settings in vcsadmin, with one exception: turning editing on, are accessible in the Management Console. Is there something in particular you're needing?

You may not be aware of this but vcsadmin can be installed on your local machine and access the VCS server remotely.  There are some port requirements specified in our documentation that need to be open for vcsadmin to remotely manage VCS.  EngineManager can be run remotely as well.

Thanks Richard, no I was not aware that those utilities can run on my local workstation.  I was primarily wondering if it can be incorporated into the console, one central location, since the majority of admin time is spend in the console.  Thanks Richard.

I guess the whole idea of the Management Console is the usability and its user friendliness.

Which is why one central location (portal) increases usability and afficency.

    Klaus,

We are seeking to constantly improve the user experience of the Management Console as we know users spend a lot of time in it.  Having your feedback here ensures we will have a reference for what customers want to see in our products.

    Thanks for your feedback!
