By default, the VQMS online Help files, the Surgient Management Console online help files, and the links to the PDF files on the Management Console Home page, point to the Surgient publications server, http://www.surgient.com. If your Surgient environment cannot access the Surgient server, due to firewalls or corporate security restrictions, the online help and Surgient PDF files will not work.
Use the following procedure to copy the latest Help files to your local environment and configure the Surgient products to access the Help locally.
1. Copy the online_help_53.zip file from the Latest Documentation page to the following location on the computer where you installed VQMS:
C:\Inetpub\wwwroot
2. Extract the files from the online_help_53.zip file into the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot directory.
You will now have a directory called /documentation.
3. Open the /documentation directory and view the .zip files for VQMS and the Management Console.
4. Double-click and then extract the MCHelp.zip and VQMSHelp.zip files into the /documentation directory.
If prompted by the Extract dialog for a directory name, do not add a folder for the help files. Verify that the Extract dialog does not automatically add a directory either. When the files are extracted, the folders and files are automatically created. Do not rename any of the files.
Your directory structure should appear like this:

5. Launch the vcsadmin utility by double-clicking the vcsadmin.exe file in the installation directory on the computer where you installed VQMS. By default, this directory is Program Files/Surgient/VCS.
6. In vcsadmin, login using admin as the User ID and the platform administrator password (defined during the installation).
For example, type the following and press the Enter key:
login admin <password>
7. In vcsadmin, enter the following command:
configset Help.LibraryBaseUrl = /documentation/pubs/53/base">http://<ipaddress_of_server>/documentation/pubs/53/base.
8. Quit vcsadmin, close and reopen the Surgient application, and then test the online Help links.
