I'm currently going through the pre-installation documentation and setting bits up as I go along and have a couple of questions regarding the best layout for getting VQMS installed and setup.
For the IP ranges required by the NAIL architecture is
there a recommended size of the range to be made available and is this
generally better to be on a dedicated network segment?
The pre-install check list makes it clear that DNS is
important to the VQMS layout. Do the internal workings of VQMS/VCS use DNS
names to talk to each other or can static IP addresses be used in it's stead?
Particularly due to the fact that the library, VCS and database will all be on
the same physical server. Currently the network segment that is in use does not have access to an internal DNS server (hence the question), although clients accessing it would go through internal DNS.
Thanks.
