Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop Adapter Problem

Unable to install the Windows Agent on the content host.

    Error message is:

Updated Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop Adapter drivers are need to successfully install

What is the correct version for this particular adapter for VQMS 5.3 and where can I find the driver version?

    Thanks!

These are the latest drivers from Intel for the NIC on your physical computer.  You should be able to go here and download the latest:

Do we know which specific version is required?

The NIC driver itself is version 8.8 or later.

The Intel download packages that corresponds to driver version above is Intel PRO2KXP v.12.2 or later for 32-bit Windows and PROEM64T v12.2 or later for 64-bit Windows.

We tried installing this driver but the error still exists. It's a 64 bit Windows OS on a Dell Powerdge 1800.

Re: Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop Adapter Problem

The package and driver versions are:

    PROEMT64 v.12.2 contains Intel e1000 driver 8.8

    PROEMT64 v.12.3 contains Intel e1000 driver 8.9

    PROEMT64 v.12.4 contains Intel e1000 driver 8.10

    PROEMT64 v.12.5 and v13.0 contain Intel e1000 driver 8.10.1

Our installer has a bug in 5.3 where "8.10" looks like "8.1" which "less than" 8.8.  We addressed the parsing of the driver version in 5.3 Service Pack 3.  You will need to get that version or temporarily downgrade the Intel driver to 8.8 or 8.9, then upgrade the driver after installing Surgient.

How do I get Service Pack 3?

Normally upgrade requests should come in through support.  Go ahead and create another ticket for the upgrade request.

I was able to successfully install the Surgient Windows Agent after changing the registry setting to version 9 for the Intel Pro 1000 MT Network adapter.  Now, I just need to be able to see the correct driver to pool the host.

Re: Intel Pro/1000 MT Desktop Adapter Problem

In Virtual Server, in the Web Admin UI, under Virtual Networks, use the "Create" item to add a virtual network for each of your new network adapter ports.  Use the physical adapter name for the network name so you can identify it in the Surgient Management Console.  After creating the virtual networks, restart the "Surgient Agent" service so the changes are reported immediately otherwise the Agent will report them automaticaly within ten minutes.
