Will Surgient provide patches/hotfixes when the vendors rollout new verions (MSVS & VMWare)?

My question is; Will Surgient provide patches and/or Hotfixes specific to new releases of Virtualization vendor software?

Example:  Will there be a specific patch or hotfix to the Surgient App once ESX 3.5 (and ESX Service Packs) are released to accomodate the changes and upgrades which VMWare has implemented?

Or are these fixes and upgrades rolled up within the Surgient Service Packs?  Is there a roadmap to imlpement hotfixes/patches between Service Pack releases to the Surgient App?

    Thank you

    Matt,

Virtualization is rapidly growing right now so vendors usually add a lot of features in their point and major releases.  As such we handle updates for new releases and major service packs from virtualization vendors with our own point releases, e.g. Surgient VQMS 5.2 supports Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2, ESX Server 3.0.1, and Surgient VQMS 5.3 supports ESX Server 3.0.1 and 3.0.2, and Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1.  Our Service Packs usually address product issues and sometimes quality issues related to virtualization integration.

We can't commit to support future releases from virtualization vendors until we understand how their changes affect our product, but we are enrolled as VMware and Microsoft partners.  You can expect that we have a close relationship with our technology providers and are in constant dialogue with them.

Stay tuned for future announcements on supporting future products from VMware and Microsoft and other key players in the virtualization space.

As a customer you can speak with your Surgient Account Manager anytime about your needs to plan for our roadmap with your new projects and expansions.

You are also welcome to attend to our Surgient User Group meetings - the next one is in Dallas in December.

    Thanks

Thank you Richard, that addresses my question.  It certainly makes sense that your company would be a direct partner with VMWare, Microsoft, and other virtualization  vendors.  We can work with our direct Account Manager prior to our next upgrade, to help determine which SP revision we should be at (depending on the version of Service Pack and version of MSVS and/or VMWare we plan to be at at that time for this environment's purposes.

I actually had a question of two about the upcoming Surgient User Group meeting scheduled for Dec 6, 2007.  Should I post that here, open a new thread, or is there anothe thread already ongoing?

    Thanks again,
    -Matt

The best place to ask questions about the User Group meeting is in the User Group Forum.

    Thanks
